Christmas time, brings out the best in us
We treat each other kindly,
We give our gifts to family and friends,
In December, that is timely.
In honor of the birth of Christ,
we share the joy of giving.
And after December twenty fifth,
We forget how we are living.
Peace is not a season
to be forgotten later on.
The promise of the birth of Christ
is that we feel his love beyond.
The warmth and love of family and friends
should extend to strangers too.
Even though we may not know what they're like
that stranger could be you.
The comfort that Jesus brings
can heal the world of woe.
Through compassion and understanding
we can make a friend of a foe.
Peace is not a season
that comes just once a year.
The promise of the birth of Christ
is that we live in love not fear.
Let's take the time to pause and think
about this special season.
And make a promise to our God
to share His peace, to share His love
for this special reason:
Peace is not a season
a respite from our strife.
