Mission to Mars (2006) - This work was composed for the
Royse City Middle School Symphonic Band, Shayne Cannings,
conductor. "Mission to Mars" commemorates Rover's landing on
Mars. It begins with the band counting down followed by a cluster chord
representing ignition and blast off. That is followed by energetic and
dangerous music as the rocket travels to orbit the earth. A slower
section in three represents orbiting the earth before faster
music takes us to Mars. The landing on Mars brings the piece to a close
